I'm looking for Edward Weekes Lawson who was Deputy Chief Constable of Derbyshire and based in Chesterfield late 19c.

I can't find any addresses for him in Chesterfield - I have him in Derby when he was based there.

Police haven't been too helpful - can anyone throw light on this for me?

Hi, I don't know whether you have any further info on Supt Lawson as your request was some time ago. The following is a list of his stations obtained from the Derbyshire Red Book, TP Woods Almanac & Kelly's Directory:

CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT & ASSISTANT CHIEF CONSTABLE DERBYSHIRE DERBYSHIRE CONSTABULARY at least from 1864 – 1888. Could have been appointed earlier but left in 1888. NB. Derbyshire Constabulary was formed in 1857.
