would appreciate any help.
I am searching for ancestors with the names Smylie, Drennan, Adams, McFarlane and Irvine.
My granny was born in Canada as Annie Dickson Smylie in 1928 to David Smylie and Bessie(nee Drennan). Bessie Drennan was born in Hamilton Scotland in 1897 to Thomas Drennan and Letita (nee Adams). Letita died shortly after bessie was born. Thomas brought Bessie and her siblings, Annie and Ellie, back to Belfast.
Bessie met her husband, David and they got married in 1918 in Belfast. They emigrated to Winnipeg, Canada. They had a total of 6 children, of which 3 died. The surviving children were called Annie Dickson Smylie, Eleanor Drennan Smylie and David Smylie. Annie was born in 1928. Eleanor was also born in Winnipeg in 1930. David was born in 1924 in Belfast. All the family moved back to Belfast around 1934. David(Snr) had been a soldier in the 1st World War, he died around 1957 in Belfast. Bessie died in 1973 in Belfast. Annie married Robert James Mcfarlane, Eleanor married Sydney McKee and David(Jnr) married Lily Todd.
Currently I have been able to get Bessie's birth certificate from Scotland. I am unable to find anything else.
Being a single parent family I cannot afford to subscribe to all the various sites, maybe to not find anything.
Please help. Any advice would be really appreciated.
