I am looking for information on Bartholomew Roberts b. about 1637 - his indenture papers in Virginia, USA say he was from Pembrokeshire, Wales and that his father was a glover.

He could have been born a bit earlier, but this date is based on the fact that many of the young men were about 16 if they came by themselves and became indentured servants. There were no other Roberts on the list he came over with.

He had 2 known children in Virginia, USA - Bartholmew Jr. and William Roberts.

What records exist in this time period in Wales? Is anyone researching Roberts families in Pembrokeshire?

There is no known connection to the pirate Bartholomew Roberts - and his dates put him several generations after my Bartholomew who left Pembrokeshire for the Colonies.

Any ideas, assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Welsh records are generally parish based.
Perusal of the main PEM page on Genuki should give you an idea of what is involved, there are also separate pages for each parish linked from it

There are certainly glovers mentioned amongst the burgesses of Newport, PEM - see

Thanks so much for the info - will check into all of the links.

I thought I had set this to notify me of replys - but if it did, I didn't receive it. I actually found the response on a google.com search.

Have a look under your User CP at top of main Pem messages page , then under Edit Options in Control Panel/Settings & Options - then Messaging & Notification, then Default Thread Subscription Mode.
Change from default which is 'no subscription'
