I have been looking for my ggggran in the 1841

her name was Martha Tivey nee Hancock her husband was Francis Tivey, I wasnt expecting to find him necessarily as he was a Royal Marine............I knew Martha was in Portsmouth in 1840 as gggran Ellen Jane was born there then and they were still there in 1842 when her brother was born.

I have found in Portsea Portsmouth a Martha Levia, son William age 5 (he was born Wales) and daug Ellen age 1 all ages place and first names fit

Am I taking too big a leap of faith to think this is my family?

"Am I taking too big a leap of faith to think this is my family?"

Not necessesarily but does it matter? Does it get you any further forward?

You didn't mention that there was another Marine living there which adds another bit of circumstantial evidence to support your assumption.
