I am researching Sarah Twitchell who married Thomas Gifkins in Herts in 1802. I have all the available census information about Sarah as well as her marriage entry. Would anybody have a reference to her baptism at Chesham please? I am interested to confirm that she was baptised at Chesham and also to confirm that she was baptised around 1784. It is likely that her brother James was baptised (c1773) in the same place.

Kind regards

Alleyne

Thanks Peter

I think that you are a generation out - if you know what I mean?? James is definitely of the 1773 era and Sarah 1784. For some reason the baptism records for Chesham seem to be hard to get hold of from about 1740 onwards. I do not know why that is - I have not found a place that I could buy the CD even. I certainly appreciate you taking the time.

Kind regards

Allen
