I've had in my possession for a number of years an infantry officers pattern sword made by Wilkinson which they confirm was sold to 2Lt N Y Lloyd of the 2nd Bn Northumberland Fusiliers on 12th January 1900.

I've drawn a blank in finding him at the Regimental Museum and he isn't listed on the CWGC database.

Are any posters able to either provide information on 2Lt Lloyd or give me some pointers as to where to continue my search.

Yours aye
Paul

Have you tried the Army List to get basic information on his career in the army? You should find a partial run of it in many larger reference libraries, county record offices or local studies libraries.

TNA has a complete (?) run, The SoG has a large number. Also try the National Army Museum http://www.national-army-museum.ac.uk/

TNA research guides will give advice
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/researchguidesindex.asp?j=1
scroll down to 'B' and click on suitable links prefixed 'British Army'.
