I went to The National Archives (TNA) catalogue
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp
in the 'word or phrase' field entered
orphan AND sailors AND school
(exactly like that, use capitals for 'and')
and then searched - there were four hits.
The first hit in ED30 contains 188 files
The second hit in ED49 contains 13,195 files
I would think you'd find something useful in that lot

part 2.....
Then using the title of one of the docs from TNA's site,
Hampstead: Sailors' Orphan Girls' School
I pasted this into a search engine and got several hits, including:
http://www.institutions.org.uk/orphanages/LND/sailors_orphan_girls_school.htm
and
http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=22657
and

A2A shows just one catalogue (at the London Metropolitan Archives) -
Reference: A/FWA/C/D/122/001
Sailors' Orphan Girls School and Home, later Royal Sailors Daughters School and Home (case 7313 or 4/1881): correspondence and papers
Creation dates: 1881-1946
Access Conditions
CLOSED UNTIL 2007
Scope and Content
116 Fitzjohns Avenue Hampstead
It doesn't really look as if there's much there of interest to you but you never know. "Papers" can mean so many things.
Don't be too alarmed by the access conditions - there are ways and means...
