WWII Service Records

Are there any, preferably on-line, Service Records for the Canadian Armed Forces for WWII? The chap I'm looking for, Leighton F Nicholl would have been about 25/26 at the start of the war, but I don't know whether he served and if he did, I don't know which Service.
Any help would be much appreciated.

hi just to let you know that world war two records are not avaiable on line yet.........i have my late fathers records, but was only allowed to get the basic info, until he had been deceased for 25 yrs.

WWII Military Service records are available through Library and Archives Canada, with certain restrictions. You can download the 'Application for Military Service form' here:

http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/genealogy/022-909.007-e.html

The first page of the form has information and instructions, the second page is the actual application. There are no restrictions if the person has been deceased more than twenty years but you have to send proof of this with the application. Requests can be made by mail or fax but not by email.
