Hi,
I am one of the thousands of Canadian army war-babies that are still looking to find a father that came to the U.K. during the WW2. I have tried the government and because I do not have rank and serial # or proof that he has been dead for more than 20 years they will not give me the information. All I have is his name, James Laws or Lawes nicknamed 'Red' and was blue-eyed and red-gold hair and was in the Petersfield area in May 1941. Where he came from in Canada I do not know so if there is someone out there that is either a member of the family or is researching the name I would love to hear from you. I will allay fears to any that might think that I am after more than information, rest assured that as a 64 I would just like to know my ancestry to complete what I have done. If family would like to get to know me that would be great.
