After two days of adverts I'm fed up with it already - and it's not even started. There's almost another fortnight  before that happy event.
(And don't mention 'Wimbledon' in a bid to placate me, 'cos I can't stand that either :) )

Your lucky you dont live over here- they have got three different kinds of football, none played with a round ball !! If you remember all in wrestling on the TV moons ago- Mick McManus and Co, -its a bit like that, but with real violence.

Cheers..Ed

But, Pam, it might be rained off - that would cheer you up, wouldn't it? ;)

Or all the "plucky" (read "talentless") British hopes might get wiped out in the first round instead of one of them generating an entire rain-forestsworth of tabloid hysteria by winning a match (he/she was drawn against my grandma, and she's been dead for over ten years ;) ) and going out later after yet another "brave fight" (read "naff game"), whereupon the media will lose interest in everything except the final, what John McEnroe has for breakfast, what lipstick Chris Evert uses, how many cupboards Bjorn Borg has persuaded young ladies into, etc., etc., etc. :)

Hi Pam,

That makes two of us then! ;) New for this year too, all the 'Celebrity' football matches as well. If that's not bad enough ...... an hour of David Beckham followed a couple of days later, by the Beckham's party! Who cares?

Followed as you say by Wimbledon ...... so guess who is taping everything in sight to have in stock? I do like to watch TV during the evenings, I admit that.

My husband knows that when I run out of tapes to watch, he's got a trip down to Blockbusters on a daily basis, hiring DVD's to keep me happy. This is preferable to having all the TV's smashed up by me, owing to complete boredom! :D

...whereupon the media... And don't get me started on the media with their 'heroes'. That is one word which is in dire need of redefining in the dictionary.
Playing five sets at Wimbledon or running up and down a football field for ninety minutes does not require bravery. Heroes are people who risk their own lives by actions such as fighting wars, and going underground to blast the way through to trapped miners.
