Yorks. coal miner who might be this John. Any help greatly received. Where is Beard Ollersett pleas? Worshipper

Hello Margaret, I found this birth for a John Vare? on LDS.

JOHN VERE OR VARE
B: 26 NOV 1840 Rainow, Cheshire, England
Parents:
Father: JOSEPH VERE Family
Mother: HANNAH POTTS
------------------
possible marriages for John's children

LUCY VERE
Spouse: JOHN VARE Family

M: 13 OCT 1884 Chapel En Le Frith, Derby, England

-----------------

I found no other marriages in UK or Australia but nearly all the childrens names appear in marriages in USA. This would explain the absence of the family in 1891/01 in UK.

I hope this helps.
Good luck with your search.

Kind Regards
Peter Euston

Peter. Thanks for info. This takes me further. I already had John's birth and a marriage for a John and Lucy that would fit in-did not have Lucy's surname but vare and Chapel-en le-frith makes sense and is not far from rainow. Will look at America lists for other marriages as this also makes sense. Very gateful to you. Worshipper

Hi Margaret,
Having grown up in North Derbyshire in a village named Hayfield I went to school in New Mills about 6 miles away. The small river that runs between these two places is the Sett hence it's known as The Sett Valley, there were several small hamlets/areas along this valley and Beard & Ollersett were once 2 of them. I am not sure if they still exist as place names today. This area is close in proximity to Chapel-en-le-frith and does have a past history of mining.
Cheers Jeremy.

Thanks Jeremy for info about beard ollersett. Would you by any chance have access to parish registers for Chapel en le frith? I'm looking for a marriage of John Vare to Lucy Vere on 13 october-i think 1884 or 1894- cant quite read date on print out from email sent to me about another member of this family. Thanks. Worshipper
