well a google search brings up some rather confusing information

RAF No 30 Squadron
http://www.raf.mod.uk/structure/30squadron.cfm
it doesn't appear to have been a training squadron during WW II.

RAAF No 30 squadron
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._30_Squadron_RAAF
again not a training unit

Can you check to see what squadron he was with.... ?

The Operations Record Book of 30 Operational Training Unit would hopefully mention the crash and may even give details of efforts made to try and find the missing aircraft. See http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=155 for a leaflet.

ORBs for OTUs are held in the AIR 29 series at the National Archives at Kew, and the following entry is taken from their catalogue at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp

-----------
AIR 29: Air Ministry and Ministry of Defence: Operations Record Books, Miscellaneous Units

Subseries within AIR 29: Operational Training Units

AIR 29/672

Scope and Content: No 30, Hixon and Gamston
Covering Dates: 1941 Sep - 1945 June
Note: with appendices
-----------

Note that the above piece (AIR 29/672) also has the ORB for No 29 OTU.

Although you'd be best to get someone to visit Kew and look up the ORB for you (a friend, researcher, etc), the National Archives do operate a limited Record Copying Service, and they may be happy to send you copies of, say, all pages from AIR 29/672 (and appendices) relating to 29 OTU for the period 1-15 Oct 1944. See https://secure.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help/copies.htm

In addition to the above, the RAF Museum at Hendon at http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/research/ also has records of interest, and you may be able to track down the history of his particular Wellington, as well as get details of the crash. See also their list of Frequently Asked Questions.
