My father was a member of the above battalion. He was issued with a
Bravery Certificate for helping people out of a train wreck around Chatham/Rainham after the rail line was bombed. The certificate has disappeared since his death. Can anyone advise me on how to trace a copy, please.

This will depend on who isssued the certificate (Army, Railway Company, Local Council?) as to where you try looking, and as to whether there may be a copy available. I think you will be very lucky to find a copy.

Thanks Geoffers. My belief is that is came through the Army with HM George VI "signature". Do you know of a Home Guard link that I might try, please? So far I haven't been able to find one.

I don't know of a web-site with specific information on this incident. TNA's online catalouge has 600+ references to the Home Guard, there may be something in there about bravery certificates - but the catalogue is just an index and you would need to go to TNA to look at any original documents
