In my former thread I mentioned that my grandmother found work as a servant in the house of the family Taylor. The name of the house was "Jesmond Dene" and the adress of this house was Braidley Road 16 in Bournemouth. In 1998 I was in Bournemouth and I tried to find this adress but without result. In the townhall they told me that this house was demolished several years ago. As far as I know my father (first names: Henry George and born the 24th of October 1921 in Christchurch) is baptised in Poole in the Church of England so I assume that there is a certificate of baptism. Would anyone be so kind to show me the way to this certificate of baptism ?

I would venture to suggest that it's a pointless assumption.
What you want is a civil registration certificate of birth which you can obtain here:
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/
It's cheaper if you first obtain the reference by searching the relevant GRO index but it will help our balance of payments if you don't.

A baptism is unlikely to tell you any more than you already know (ie they name of the mother & that the child was illegitimate). However, I am having difficulty finding the General Register Office (GRO) details for Henry George's birth. Do you know what surname he was registered under?
Jesmond Dene was at 50 Braidley Road, Bournemouth. In 1916 it was the home of Dr & Mrs F. Winson Ramsay whose son, Lieutenant Derrick Winson Ramsay of the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment) died in Flanders on 14 Feb 1916.

my father had only two surnames: Henry George.
From his birth on the the 24th of October 1921 he has been several months in one of the two following babies homes:
--The Hants and Dorset Babies Home in Parkstone
--The Free Church Council Babies Home in Southbourne
I suppose that these babies homes do not exist any longer but is it possible that there still exist any registration or administration from these homes somewhere ? Perhaps you can help me or give an advice ?
