Back & Forth??

I have a rellie - Arnold Wright born 19-Nov-1879 in Neston, Cheshire, (although his parents/grandparents all originate from St John, N.B. but are living in Cheshire - professions are Master Mariners - which might explain that!)

Arnold married a Mary Ann Jones according to Free BMD: Q3 1905 West Derby, Liverpool, Lancs 8b 592 - however so far`I cannot find a birth for Mary Ann in UK but I have found a possible match on the 1881 Canadian Census in Rideau Ward, Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario District 116, Sub-dist B, Page 15 Household 81+

Arnold is then homesteading and living in North Annex, Regina, Sasketchewan, Canada with wife Mary Ann (nee JONES) at time of Signing up for Can Exp Force on 12/01/1916 - when he gets shipped back to NW England and settles down in Liverpool. In 1881 & 1891 censi he is living in UK.

Before I investigate this further - was this forth & back situation usual at this time ?

Interesting that you should mention the back and forth.

My ggg grandfathers brother (Daniel Samuel Rogers) and his wife (Isabelle Julia Rodwell) seemed to do a similar thing. His eldest child was born in London then a couple more children were born in Peterbrough, Ontario, a couple more children were then born in London then Daniel and Julia appear to settle in Ontario where the remaining kids were born!
The dates and places I have on the births are correct, and I have been left wondering if this was indeed an unusual occurance.

Perhaps it is not so unusual?
