Shoulder of Mutton Inn, Brough

An ancestor of mine was innkeeper at the Shoulder of Mutton Inn, Main Street, Brough from around 1881 to around 1891. The inn closed some time around 1910.

I have come across several photographs of Main Street, but none shows the Shoulder of Mutton. If anybody has such a photo, or information (newspaper report etc) about the closing of the inn, please contact me.

I am going to the Brough area at the end of the month. If you can follow the enumerator's route through Brough and make a guess as to where the pub might have been I will take a photo for you. It was a flourishing market town once but is very dead now. What was your ancestor's name? I can probably look for him on the census myself.
