This looks as if it could be the family in the 1841 census of St Decumans:
HO107/965/9, folio 36, page 29
Shirt Gate Street
George SPARKS 45 Cordwinder Born in county yes
Jane do 45 yes
Elizabeth do 19 yes
Henry do 17 yes
James do 11 yes
Jane do 7 yes
George do 4 yes
Hope this helps.
Janet
Hello,
Thanks so much for your help.....this is the family I was looking for.
Could you tell me if there was any occupation recorded for Elizabeth or Henry?
Also, what does the "do" after their name, stand for? There should have been a John b abt 1818 and a William b abt 1827. They would have been aged 23 and 14, so could have been working somewhere.
Many thanks,
Hazel

Hazel,
No occupation given for any of the family except George. "Do" stands for ditto, meaning in this case they all have the same surname.
There are these 3 SPARKS also in St Decumans which could be your John and William plus one other????
HO107/965/9, folio 25, page 7
Bridge Street
Jesse SPARKS 30 Tailor Born in county yes
John do 20 Joiner yes
William do 13 yes
Ages are supposed to be rounded down to the nearest 5 years in adults (i.e. anyone over 15) in the 1841. Hope this helps.
Janet
