Hello Rod,

Three years ago, I looked up my Cornish Ancestors on the 1871 Census Online, only to find that my Gr.Grandmother was not listed with the family and she didn't appear on it at all.

Cornish Forefathers did a look-up for me at the CRO in Truro and told me that she was with the family, I purchased your CD in order to see the actual census page (thankyou very much!) :)

I know we're not allowed to do look-ups for people from your CD's ..... but if someone else has the same problem with a 'missing person' ...... would it be OK with you if they asked me for a look-up?

I know we're not allowed to do look-ups for people from your CD's ..... but if someone else has the same problem with a 'missing person' ...... would it be OK with you if they asked me for a look-up?Lookups to help people from the Archive CD Books CDs are allowed.

However, for clarification:

Advertising that you will do lookups is not allowed. e.g. "I have this new CD and I will do lookups for anyone". That's the same as saying "don't bother buying the CD, I can tell everyone what is on it".
Answering a specific query posted by someone else, and helping them is allowed.
Can you see the difference?

Regards
Rod

ps. These "conditions" apply to Archive CD Books CDs only. You may find that many other CD publishers apply different and more stringent restrictions.

Hello again Rod,

Thankyou very much for clarification of the rules ...... I wouldn't have dared answer a query until now, for fear of 'being struck off your list' and sued!

It's very kind of you to allow us to help on a specific query, as I love helping others when I can ...... thoroughly enjoyed helping on the Cornwall free look-ups for a month you had a while back! :)
