HMS California - Glasgow.

Anyone any details please of a ship called HMS California which was bombed by the Germans on 15th July 1943. It was a merchant ship and lives lost amounted to 95 according to the War Memorial in London. I believe the Captain's name was SMART.

Any information would be appreciated.
