Goodsons_ HELP!

I have know that my GGGrandfather Alfred Goodson died in Lambeth workhouse in 1838 aged 32 so was born abt 1806, on Family Search IGI a Alfred John Goodson came up, Christened 8/1/1809, in Kidlington oxon, when doing further reasearch, downloaded some records,by keying in a batch no, an Alfred John Goodson came up as did my GGGrandfathers name and the place where he was married, (which I know is correct ) does that mean it is the same person? or how do I confirm weather or not this person is related ,or even where my gggrandfather was born. hope this makes sense?!
any help or advice on this would be great
