Hello Trish,

I know Sarah Ann remarried so maybe William NUNN (Green Grocer) did not last very long. I will look in my file and find out when she remarried.

Did you spot any William NUNN (Tailor) in your search?

I notice in the Suffolk return for Francis NICOLE in the 1861 Census there was:
Harriet I NUNN Daur Un 19 Milliner [born] Middlesex Islington.

I would guess this is Sarah Ann's daughter from her first marriage to William NUNN.

Alex Nicole

Here is another possibility from the 1851 census -- the names match but William's occupation is wrong:

[b]1851 Census: HO107/1519 Folio 258 Page 9
Address: 22 ?Myddleton St., Clerkenwell, Middlesex

William NUNN Head Mar 36 Draper Collector [born] Middx St. Giles
Sarah Ann NUNN Wife Mar 32 [born] Suffolk Hedleigh
Harriett NUNN Daur 7 Scholar [born] Middx Islington
Mary Ann NUNN Daur 4 Do [born]Middx St. Martin
Willm H. NUNN Son 2 [born] Middx St. Martin

What do you think?

Hello Trish,

The 1851 Census: HO107/1519 Folio 258 Page 9. Return look more like my William NUNN. His wife name and place of birth is correct (Hadleigh, Suffock) and one of her daughters was called Harriett born Islington, Middlesex. In the later census with Francis NICOLE (Husband No 2) in Hadleigh, Harriett is there (aged 19) with Francis NICOLE's two daughters.

In 1841, Sarah Fidgett was living in St. Pancras, Marylebone, her age was rounded down to 25, and she was not born in the county. Source Citation: Class: HO107; Civil Parish: St Pancras; County: Middlesex; Enumeration District: 5; Page: 8; Line: 1; GSU roll: 438798.

There is a William Newen, age rounded to 20, born in County, living in St. Pancras, Marylebone at the same time - he is living at the home of Thomas Burchmore, a publican. This might be your William, as Newen sounds like Noon, and Nunn can be pronounced as Noon... Source Citation: Class: HO107; Civil Parish: St Pancras; County: Middlesex; Enumeration District: 18A; Page: 14; Line: 11; GSU roll: 438801.

She may have been as little as 1 year older, due to the rounding of ages in the 1841 census...

Debbie
