We are searching for tidbury family from Portsea/Portsmouth area.
Father George, Mother Ellen (Olim O'brien) m before 1849.
Sons George Henry b Oct 1849 and Charles b 20th Jan 1853 (entry no. 565) Portsea, parish unknown.
GH & Chas. went to the Cape Colony (South Africa) where they founded a dynasty at Tidbury's Toll (Hotel, trading store and several farms) near Fort Beaufort. We have found colonial records from 1889, but no immigration records. There is also a Evered Vivian (d 1889 leaving estate), but we dont know where he fits in.
We have been unsuccessful in our search in Hants, so if anyone can aid with census or BMD info on any of the family, we will be most grateful.
