Dear All,
My G-G-Grandfather Edwin Llewellyn died in Abergavenny Workhouse in 1909.
My G-G-Grandmother Emily Llewellyn died in Merthyr Road also in 1909.
How do I find out where they were buried? I have written to the council there
Twice in the last couple of years but I didn't get a reply.

Hello Jenny, I have just found this Parish Chest site & saw your email.
My Grandfather also died in the workhouse in 1936 & I have visited it and also placed my mothers ashes in the graveyard!
Please feel free to email me back if you are still interested & I will tell you more.
Mini hugs! Jennie :-)

Ladies,
Have you come across this site?: http://www.workhouses.org.uk/ If you select Workhouse locations/Welsh Poor Law Unions/Monmouthshire/Abergavenny you'll see some history of the workhouse, together with links which might give you information on where to look next.
The following links is also useful for Monmouthshire church records: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monfamilies/monprts.htm
Unfortunately the Abergavenny transcripts cease in 1900 and they only cover C of E (sorry C in W).
Good hunting!
John
