Hello all

My relative Charles Joseph PAGLIANO married Agnes Mary CHRISTOPHERS at St Josephs (Roman Catholic) Chapel Bugle Street on 15 November 1848. Agnes' parents were John Christophers and Mary CROWCH, of Gloucester House, 8 Brunswick Place, Southampton.

Does anyone have any knowledge of or interest in the Christophers?

Hi: I note that you are interested in a family of Christophers. Records here in NZ show a descent from John Crowch Christophers, a Doctor in Victorian London. I assume that he will be a brother of Agnes. Would you know whether that is right? The family here in NZ is desecnded from John's son henry St John Christophers who arrived here as a civil engineer.

Hello John

Yes, your assumption is correct. John Crowch CHRISTOPHERS was the first child (b 15 October 1812) of John CHRISTOPHERS and Mary CROWCH. He married Laura CUERTON on 6 April 1844 in a Roman Catholic ceremony at the Bavarian Chapel in Westminster; I've not followed the family beyond that so know nothing of his children.

I know something about most of of John's siblings (he was one of at least 12 children) particularly Agnes, of course.

I can let you have more information if you are interested, contact me privately.

Thanks

Colin
