I have found in the IGI a reference to a baptism in Swanage on 28 Feb 1768, of Daniel COOPER son of Daniel COOPER and Betty. He may be one of my 3G grandfathers.
Could anyone enlighten me with further particulars about this baptism?
I am especially interested to know if the mother's maiden name is mentioned, as I have found a marriage in an on-line extract from the Swanage register of Daniel COOPER and Elizabeth TARRY (26 Nov 1759) and I am wondering if this Elizabeth could be the aforementioned Betty.
IGI also has a Betty TERRY, d. of Thomas and Susan, bap. 20 Jun 1741 in Swanage. I should be grateful for any evidence for OR against identifying her as Elizabeth TARRY and/or as Betty, the mother of Daniel COOPER jnr.
(No doubt, if the links are made, I shall somehow discover that Danny Boy isn't mine, after all!!...but I'll deal with that as and when...)
And a belated Happy new Year to all Seekers.
