Hi, I am trying to find where a James Havard or (Haverd, Harard) was in the 1861 census. He was born about 1854 in staffordshire. He was not with his family on the night of the census, he could have been with grandparents some where else. thanks. James

JamesJames, it may help if you can give us a little more information -- for context. Where in Staffordshire was James born and what were his parents' names? What were their birthplaces given as on the 1861 census? Do you have James on the 1871 or later censuses?

Hi Trish, on the 1861 census the family were living in Kingswinford, on the 1871 census he is living with his widowed mother Elizabeth in Kingswinford, which say he was born in Bilston, on other censuses he was born in Brierley Hill. His father name was James born about 1825, birth place unknown. On the 1851 census the spelling is HAVERD, living in Bilston, on the 1881 census the spelling is HARARD living in Stafford. His mothers maiden name was Edwards I think, not quite sure. many thanks, James.
