Well, the gestation was lengthy, the labour arduous but the infant is safely delivered on line!
There are a few hiccups but I am hoping that some cyber gripe-water will sort them out. ;)
It has been tested with some browsers but please bear with me if it doesn't look right on yours.

You will find it on http://www.smalley-ops.co.uk/smalleyops.html

Any feedback will be received in an adult fashion!

Very professional Patrisia, I like it!

Was scanning through the Census pages out of curiosity, and came across a strange name that I had never heard of....OLDKNOW. I wonder where that stemmed from? Possibly a very wise person!

Thanks Glenys for 'professional', I am definitely an amateur at this but learning fast!

I have no idea of the spread of the name Oldknow, I have only come across it in DBY, though I am sure someone will put me right on that. :p
The Reaney & Wilson 'Dictionary of English Surnames' gives the meaning as .....
OE eald, genoh 'old enough'. cf. GOODENOUGH.

So it looks as if you are near enough!

As a new visitor I would like to say that Patrisia's OPS is brilliant, and look forward to that level of dedication becoming a new benchmark.

I wish it was easier to access tho'....but still brilliant Ms Carrington!

Just to keep everyone interested ;)

More uploads - baptisms 1821-1840 and burials 1800-1837.
The 1861 census is on the way and some more interesting pieces about Smalley, by Rev Charles Kerry.

Just as a matter of interest, I did donate some years of the Smalley registers to FREE reg. Not looked at the site yet, but I will when I have a minute.
