Im trying to solve a problem which has been thrown up on the IGI Individual records.

I'm looking for the dates and correct name/s of daughters of Thomas Pumphrey (also spelt Pomfrey) and Charity nee Bell. I believe Thomas and Charity married in 1786 in St. Nicholas, Brighton.

The IGI records show: -

(1) a daughter Susanna Pumphrey christened 22 Jan 1782 to parents to Thomas Pumphrey and Charity. Brighton, Sussex, England.

(2) a daughter Susan Pomfrey christened 22 Jan 1792 to parents Thomas Pomfrey and Charity. St. Nicholas' Brighton, Sussex, England.

Is this two separate children coincidentally christened on exactly the same day ten years apart with similar names, or one child being recorded twice with transcription errors. Bearing in mind the wedding date of 1786 I think (2) is probably the best bet.

If anyone can solve my problem or give me any info. at all, I will be most Grateful.

The 1782 entry is not one extracted by the LDS from the parish register, it is one submitted by an LDS member.

Once in a while an LDS member gets it right, or has additional info shown regarding other events in the person's life which can point you in the direction of the real thing for, say, a marriage or death, so they are always worth making note of if there's nothing shown from the register, but mostly they don't have a clue and the entry is rubbish.

I can confirm the marriage for you from the Sussex Marriage Index,

Brighton, East Sussex, 12 Jan 1786
Thomas PUMPHREY, bach.
Charity BELL, wid.botp.(B)

Note that Charity is a widow, and this looks like her first marriage,

Brighton, East Sussex, 2 Nov 1780:
John BELL
Charity CLEAR, botp (B)

You would have to see the Brighton registers to check for children of Thomas & Charity, as what Mythology said about 'member submitted' IGI records is true.
