Im trying to solve a problem which has been thrown up on the IGI Individual records.
I'm looking for the dates and correct name/s of daughters of Thomas Pumphrey (also spelt Pomfrey) and Charity nee Bell. I believe Thomas and Charity married in 1786 in St. Nicholas, Brighton.
The IGI records show: -
(1) a daughter Susanna Pumphrey christened 22 Jan 1782 to parents to Thomas Pumphrey and Charity. Brighton, Sussex, England.
(2) a daughter Susan Pomfrey christened 22 Jan 1792 to parents Thomas Pomfrey and Charity. St. Nicholas' Brighton, Sussex, England.
Is this two separate children coincidentally christened on exactly the same day ten years apart with similar names, or one child being recorded twice with transcription errors. Bearing in mind the wedding date of 1786 I think (2) is probably the best bet.
If anyone can solve my problem or give me any info. at all, I will be most Grateful.
