The Cambridgeshire Family History Society has released two more CDs to help you with your research and as always, they are available from the Parish Chest. I know that the Cambridgeshire MI (K-W) CD will be especially popular. I am really disppointed that due to Frank's failing eyesight, we have had to cancel our attendance at the Bristol and Avon Family History Society Open Day. I love this event and am heartbroken at having to miss it. We received an email last week from Alan Smith, of Lancashire Origins saying that due to his ill health, he is no longer able to undertake any more research. Very sad news indeed, and we wish him well. Enjoy your retirement, Alan. Despite the sad news about Alan, be not downhearted. If you are looking for a superb and diligent researcher in the Lancashire area, I can highly recommend Simon Martin, the Family History Detective, who is a member of AGRA, and renowned for his excellent work. We have a new supplier at Parish Chest, Reg Postlethwaite, and he is selling his wonderful book, 'Captain Thomas Paulden a True Cavalier: A Family Historian's Dream Fulfilled.' This book is super and I know because I have a copy. Make sure you get yours! I recently learned that Chris Paton will be giving talks at the, Unlock Your Past Roadshow in Australia. Oh Chris, I am so envious and I bet you will have a fantastic time. One of my turkey poults turned out to be a stag instead of a hen, so I shall be going up to Wonnacott Farm this coming weekto visit Rosie Yells and collect two more Norfolk Black hen turkey poults. I have to keep both boys happy! The weather here is dry, if a little chilly. I have chicken houses to clean out, the yard to swab down and various other outside chores to get on with, so I had better make a start. |
